Résumé | “Who do you think you are?” is the question posed to the series' protagonists; the answer, they discover, is not necessarily straightforward. During a journey into their past, the protagonists, all well-known public figures, discover how their family history has shaped their identities. The premise of the series is that our personal past is connected to our national history. Hence, family stories provide a look into our national past and illuminate historical issues and events. Each of the six episodes is dedicated to one individual. Resembling detective work, the protagonists journey through their family history and discover who they truly are. The episodes to be screened will be dedicated to the journeys of Gabi Gazeet and Shifra Horn. Gabi Gazeet sets out with very little information about his parents' past and discovers what has been silenced for so long. Shifra Horn embarks upon the journey following years of denial and a lack of desire to confront her family. Through Bukhara, Mashhad, and Odessa she discovers profound roots and comes to terms with her true identity. |
