| Résumé | À l'âge de 83 ans, Moshe Rosenthalis a une passion dans sa vie, la même passion depuis ses dix ans, se mettre devant une toile tendue, tenir un pinceau et peindre, peindre, peindre . At the age of 83 Moshe Rosenthalis has one passion in life, the same passion that possessed him ten, twenty and fifty years ago – to stand in front of a stretched canvass, holding a paintbrush, and to paint, paint, paint… The wars and struggles of life are in the shadows of the constant battle he wages on the canvass. . “Don’t be afraid of the canvass, let the canvass be afraid of you” he says. Endeavoring to understand Rosenthalis' methods of creation, the film follows the artist as he travels to Lithuania, where he and the "Realistic-Socialism art form were born, and back to Tel Aviv, Jaffa and Safed, where Rosenthalis defined his own style. Rosenthalis' painting has been described as “A Pill of Optimism”, an explosion of color stains that overflows with light and happiness. |
