Résumé	Portrait de Lia van Leer, fondatrice de la Cinémathèque israélienne, de la Cinémathèque de Jérusalem et du Festival international du film de Jérusalem. Née à B?l?i (aujourd'hui Moldavie) en 1924, elle a été envoyée par ses parents vivre avec sa sœur en Israël, où elle a survécu à la guerre. Lia van Leer n'a jamais revu ses parents. Ayant développé sa passion pour le cinéma très tôt vers 1950, elle et son mari Wim - ingénieur, pilote, dramaturge et producteur de films - ont fondé plusieurs ciné-clubs et, en 1960, l'Israel Film Archive. Viennent ensuite les cinémathèques de Haïfa, Tel-Aviv et Jérusalem, ainsi que de nombreuses autres initiatives. En 1984, elle a fondé le Jerusalem Film Festival, dont elle est encore aujourd'hui la directrice du conseil d'administration. Après la mort de son mari en 1991, elle a créé le prix Win Van Leer Award pour les cinéastes émergents, pour lequel plus de 90 films étaient en compétition en 2008. LIA suit sa vie ; des entrevues avec des amis et des collègues créent un portrait convaincant de sa biographie. Lia van Leer a reçu de nombreux prix au fil des ans ; entre autres, elle a reçu le célèbre Prix Israël pour l'œuvre de sa vie, sa contribution à la société et à l'État d'Israël. Lia van Leer a été une invitée régulière de la Berlinale ; en 1995, elle a été présidente du jury international et en 2003, elle a parrainé l'initiative Berlinale Talent Campus. Born in B?l?i (now Moldavia) in 1924, she was sent by her parents to live with her sister in Israel, where she survived the war. Lia van Leer never saw her parents again. Having developed her passion for cinema early on in the 1950s, she and her husband Wim – an engineer, pilot, playwright and film producer – began several film clubs and in 1960 founded the Israel Film Archive. These were followed by cinematheques in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as well as many other initiatives. In 1984 she founded the Jerusalem Film Festival, of which she is still board director today. After her husband's death in 1991 she created the Win Van Leer Award for emerging filmmakers, for which over 90 films competed in 2008. LIA follows her life; interviews with friends and colleagues create a compelling portrait of her biography. Lia van Leer has received many awards over the years; among others, she is the recipient of the celebrated Israel Prize for her life's work, her contribution to society and the state of Israel. Lia van Leer has been a regular guest of the Berlinale; in 1995 she was president of the International Jury and in 2003 she was a patron of the fledging initiative Berlinale Talent Campus.
