Résumé	Javier, 15 ans, idolâtre son frère aîné Adrian, qui est parti accomplir son service militaire obligatoire. Alors que la situation politique s'aggrave à son retour, il s'avère qu'Adrian fait maintenant partie d'un groupe de militants antigouvernementaux ; malgré les efforts de ses parents adorateurs pour protéger les garçons, Adrian disparaît rapidement, son sort reste un mystère. Le jeune Javier - observant intensément son monde qui s'écroule autour de lui - lutte entre sa fierté de l'héroïsme d'Adrian et la jalousie qu'il ressent lorsqu'il est enfant et qu'il est encore sur le point de devenir un homme. Bientôt, la famille est mise sur liste noire et Javier est envoyé chez des parents au Mexique pendant que ses parents et sa grand-mère se retirent en Uruguay. Au moment de leur réunion aigre-douce, seul Javier est prêt à affronter la vérité sur son frère et à affronter un avenir très différent de celui qu'il avait prévu. Fifteen-year-old Javier idolizes his older brother Adrian, who has been away completing his mandatory military service. As the political situation heats up upon his return, however, it comes to light that Adrian now belongs to a group of antigovernment activists; despite his adoring parents’ efforts to protect the boys, Adrian soon disappears, his whereabouts a mystery. Young Javier - observing his world intensely as it falls apart around him - struggles between his pride in Adrian’s heroism and the jealousy he feels as a child who is still on the verge of becoming a man. Soon the family is blacklisted, and Javier is sent to stay with relatives in Mexico while his parents and grandmother retreat to Uruguay. By the time of their bittersweet reunion, only Javier is willing to face the truth about his brother and confront a future that looks far different from the one he had planned.
