The “mesaya’at” company is a microcosm of Israeli society: religious and secular, rightists and leftists, settlers wearing kippot and yuppies sporting pony-tails, bachelors and family men. Jenin Diary follows the soldiers as they deal with the collective fears and the individual guilt feelings, live together under fire, red-eyed from sleep-deprivation and tears, trying to grasp what exactly happened during those moments in the narrow alley in the heart of the Jenin refugee camp. What are they, the IDF and the State of Israel doing there? Will they report for reserve duty the next time they are called? Jenin Diary exposes to all the inside story of the human element in wartime.
