Résumé Un lieu merveilleux et magique qui resplendit de contradictions. Pendant une année entière, le réalisateur filme le parc national et la station balnéaire de Sakhne, l'un des parcs les plus populaires et les plus beaux d'Israël. The Garden of Eden is the story of a wondrous, magical place that is resplendent with contradictions. For an entire year, the film documents the Sakhne National Park and resort, one of the most popular and beautiful parks in Israel. Year round, the park, attracts all possible elements of Israeli society—elderly kibbutz members from the surrounding area begin their day at 6 a.m. with a swim in the blue waters. Arab families from up north spread blankets on the grass, trying to blend in with ease. Groups of former Soviet Union immigrants visit the park at night to eat, drink, and bathe “just like they did back in the homeland.” Soldiers visit the park as part of their military induction process. And tourists obviously visit from all over the world. Left breathless in the winter, slightly disappointing in the summer, yet immersing in the water and convinced it is just as holy as the Sea of Galilee. The park’s transformation throughout the year—from a magical vision of beauty in the winter months to the enveloping smoke of barbeques in the summer, and the diverse individuals who visit the park throughout the year—provides for discussion and reflection.
