Résumé	Son odyssée commence par une barmitzvah tardive à Brooklyn orthodoxe, avant de se mondialiser et de le conduire d'Amsterdam à Auschwitz, via Jérusalem. Lors d'une brève escale à Londres, Kastner examine si l'antisémitisme est en hausse en Grande-Bretagne, mais ce n'est que lors d'une mauvaise rencontre dans un lotissement parisien que le ton initialement facétieux du film s'assombrit. La destination finale de Kastner, la Pologne, le laisse consterné et visiblement ébranlé, invoquant le débat sur le " tourisme de l'Holocauste " et, ce faisant, éclipsant l'esprit des bagel-shops précédents. L'approche de Kastner divisera le public autant que le titre provocateur du film. Quel que soit votre point de vue, son voyage est indéniablement révélateur. Finding himself irritated but intrigued when asked “are you Jewish?”, secular young Canadian filmmaker Jamie Kastner takes his cue from documentary cinema’s rabble-rouser-in-chief Michael Moore and goes in search of the motivations and meaning behind what he’d long felt to be a loaded question. His odyssey gets under way with a belated barmitzvah in orthodox Brooklyn, before going global and taking him from Amsterdam to Auschwitz, via Jerusalem. During a brief stopover in London, Kastner investigates whether anti-Semitismis on the rise in Britain, but it’s not until a nasty encounter on a Paris housing estate that the film’s initially facetious tone darkens. Kastner’s final destination, Poland, leaves him appalled and visibly shaken, invoking the ‘Holocaust tourism’ debate and in the process eclipsing earlier bagel-shop witticisms. Kastner’s approach is guaranteed to divide audiences as much as the film’s provocative title. Whatever your view his journey is undeniably eye-opening.
