| Résumé | De l'Afrique profonde à Israël moderne, en suivant les espoirs, les frustrations et les luttes quotidiennes de deux femmes éthiopiennes. Les faits sont simples : Abuna Vessa et Ania Matiko, sont des victimes de violence. Le film essaye de reconstituer ce qui a conduit à ces violences. A violent criminal offense leads us through a fascinating time travel from deep Africa to modern Israel, as we follow the hopes, frustrations and daily struggles of two Ethiopian women. The film explores their fate, the total estrangement, the clash with a society that is not sympathetic to their tradition, yet offers nothing to substitute it. The dry facts are simple: Amselo Tasma, strangles his wife Abuna Vessa, mother of five, to death, while Ania Matiko is luckier - her husband Tamsagan Matiko, fails in his murderous stabbing attempt. The offenders are imprisoned and the film follows both stories, trying to reconstruct what led to the two events. |
