| Résumé | Bronislaw Huberman, un petit garçon juif de Pologne, joue du violon avec une telle virtuosité qu'on lui a offert un noble cadeaux: un Stradivarius qu'il utilise pour éblouir Johannes Brahms. Au cours de la montée du nazisme Huberman réussi à sauver 7 musiciens juifs et aidé à exiler avec leurs familles en Palestine. Là-bas il fonde l'orchestre national. Pendant un concert son Stradivarius lui a été volé. Cinq décennies plus tard, l'instrument est découvert par la superstar Joshua Bell de l'Orchestre philharmonique d'Israël qui l'achète avant de retourner jouer un concerto de Brahms dans la ville natale de Huberman. Le film examine la brutalité de l'occupant allemand et met en lumière le parcours de Joshua Bell - maintenant le plus célèbre soliste de concert du monde - pour acquérir le "Strad d' Huberman". Bronislaw Huberman, a little Jewish boy from Poland, plays the violin with such virtuosity that a nobleman gifts him a Stradivarius which he uses to bedazzle Johannes Brahms. During the rise of Nazism Huberman managed to rescue 7 Jewish musicians. He brought them with their families to Palestine and founded the national orchestra. While giving a concert his Stradivarius was stolen. Five decades later, the instrument is uncovered and superstar Joshua Bell of the Israeli Philharmonic purchases it before returning to play a Brahms concerto in Huberman’s hometown. The film examines the brutality of the German occupiers and sheds light on just how Joshua Bell — now the world’s most famous concert soloist — came to own Huberman’s Strad. |
