Résumé	En 1968, à la suite de manifestations étudiantes, la Pologne expulsa les derniers Juifs de ce qui fut jadis la plus grande colonie juive du monde, mettant ainsi fin à plus de mille ans d'histoire. Les quelques survivants ont dû se fondre dans la société polonaise sans avoir la capacité ou la volonté de préserver une identité juive religieuse, ethnique, culturelle ou nationale. FAREWELL TO MY COUNTRY raconte l'histoire de nombreuses personnes qui ont été victimes de discrimination, persécutées et finalement forcées de fuir ; c'est l'histoire de l'élimination silencieuse de la communauté juive par le régime communiste impitoyable. À l'aide d'images rares et inédites, le film révèle intimement l'expérience des émigrés à travers la persécution des communistes par l'État. In 1968, following student demonstrations, Poland expelled the last remaining Jews from what once was the largest Jewish settlement in the world, effectively ending over a thousand years' history. The few that were left behind had to blend into Polish society without the ability or will to preserve any religious, ethnic, cultural or national Jewish identity. FAREWELL TO MY COUNTRY tells the story of many who were discriminated against, persecuted and eventually forced to flee; it is the story of the silent elimination of the remaining Jewish community by the ruthless communist regime. Using rare and never-before-seen footage, the film intimately reveals the experience of emigrants by way of the communists' state-sponsored persecution.
