C'était le plus grand sauvetage organisé du territoire occupé par les nazis et est devenu connu sous le nom de Kindertransport. Les enfants, âgés de 3 mois à 17 ans, ont été contraints d'abandonner leurs parents. Ils parlent du dernier adieu à leur famille, du terrifiant voyage en train hors d'Allemagne et de leur arrivée dans un pays où ils ne parlaient pas la langue et vivaient avec de parfaits étrangers. Après la guerre, la plupart ont découvert que leurs parents avaient été assassinés. This film related the story of the 10,000 children who came to Britain to escape the Holocaust in soft tones and gentle rythms, but somehow that heightens the horror.’ From December 1938 until the outbreak of war ten months later almost 10,000 Jewish children escaped to England. It was the largest organised rescue from Nazi occupied territory and became known as the Kindertransport. The children, aged between 3 months and 17 years were forced to leave their parents behind. They talk about the last goodbye to their families, the terrifying train journey out of Germany and arriving in a country where they couldn’t speak the language and were living with total strangers. After the war, most discovered their parents had been murdered in the Holocaust.
