| Résumé | Ces femmes vivent avec la gloire d'être danseuse et les applaudissements du public tout en luttant contre l'objection aiguë à leur profession. Elles doivent souvent faire face à un traitement méprisable parce que leur profession est jugée inappropriée pour une femme respectable et honnête. Comme tiré des Mille et une Nuits, le film présente, image après image, la vie de ces femmes qui luttent pour le bonheur le plus simple et le plus profond, pour la liberté qu'elles trouvent dans la danse. Il révèle un monde coloré, plein de poésie et de rythme, un environnement sensuel et fantastiquement féminin. Et de ce monde émerge une déclaration à la fois ouvertement féministe, charmante et complexe. Les trois femmes que le film suit sont Palestine Chatib, Orit Maftzir et Tina Gadish. They must often deal with contemptible treatment all because theirs is deemed an inappropriate profession for a respectable and honest woman. As if taken from Arabian Nights, the film presents, image upon image, the lives of these women who are fighting for the simplest and yet most profound happiness -- for the freedom that they find in dance. It reveals a colorful world, full of poetry and rhythm; a sensual and fantastically feminine environment. And from within this world emerges a statement at once overtly feminist, charming and complex. The three women that the film follows are Palestine Chatib, Orit Maftzir and Tina Gadish. |
