| Résumé | Autriche en 1936 et Leonidas Tachezy , un fonctionnaire du gouvernement autrichien, marié à la fille d'une famille importante, reçoit une lettre troublante. Douze ans auparavant, alors qu'il était étudiant en Allemagne, il avait eu une liaison avec une femme juive. Elle lui demande maintenant de l'aider à placer un garçon de onze ans à moitié juif dans une école autrichienne. Un tas de questionnements s'ensuit; l'enfant est-il de lui ? Devrait-il l'aider car le mouvement nazi est en croissance? Etc... Ce film dramatique et complexe est basé sur une nouvelle de l'auteur juif Franz Werfel (1890-1945). This dramatic and complex film, based on a novella by the Jewish author Franz Werfel (1890-1945) delves into a man's ethical crisis. Is the child his? Should he help, and at a time when the Nazis are on the rise? |
