Résumé	Ce long-métrage inspiré par le pogrom de Jedwabne, épisode douloureux de l'histoire polonaise, fait couler beaucoup d'encre dans le pays. Révélé il y a douze ans, le massacre de Jedwabne où des Polonais avaient brûlé vifs des juifs dans ce village du nord-est de la Pologne, a servi d'inspiration à un film qui risque de relancer le débat sur une page noire de l'histoire du pays. Franciszek Kalina (Ireneusz Czop) comes to Poland after years of emigration, alerted by the information that his younger brother (Maciej Stuhr) is in conflict with the inhabitants of his village. After arrival he discovers that this conflict results from a dark secret from the past, which destroys the nice image of the village. The investigation conducted by the brothers strengthens the conflict, which turns into an open aggression, and the revealed story has a tragic effect on the life of brothers and their neighbors. The film is inspired by true events; it tells about the Poles’ attitudes toward the Holocaust and puts the still valid questions regarding the denied themes from the past.
